MOCK PARLIAMENT SESSION “A STEP TOWARDS DEMOCRATIC LEARNING”

On December 3, 2024, K.R. Mangalam World School, Greater Noida, successfully organized a Mock Parliament Session, offering students an enriching opportunity to engage with the democratic process. The session aimed to educate students about parliamentary systems while enhancing their leadership, debating, and public speaking skills.

The event witnessed active participation from 25 students of Grades IX to XII, who took on diverse roles such as the Prime Minister, Opposition Leaders, Ministers, Speaker of the House, and Secretary-General. The session began with an opening ceremony, where the Speaker of the House provided a brief overview of parliamentary procedures. This was followed by the introduction of the Data Protection Bill, sparking insightful discussions. The Question Hour addressed various agendas, including the Farmer’s Bill, Ayushman Bharat Card, NeVA Portal, Agniveer Scheme, and Bulldozer-Raj in Uttar Pradesh, simulating the functioning of a real parliamentary session.

The event concluded with students gaining a profound understanding of the workings of the parliamentary system and its role in governance, fostering an appreciation for the democratic process.
